I’m raising funds for Muath, a 27-year-old man who, although he managed to get out of Gaza years ago in pursuit of his Postgraduate degrees in Energy Engineering in Algeria, is in constant fear and worry for his whole family, who are in Gaza. His family is threatened by death from everywhere: bombing, hunger, disease, and lack of shelter. Muath left behind his whole family, friends, home, and all his memories in his destroyed home and computer, so the photos that were uploaded here are whatever he could pull out of his device. As you may notice, there are some before and after photos of Gaza and his village, particularly where it used to be a place that he calls home, which was completely destroyed. Without further ado, I invite you to please take a moment and see what Muath has to say:

My name is Muath, and I come from Gaza. Today, I write this with a heavy heart not only on behalf of myself, but for my entire family to ask for your help in saving our lives, our dignity, and a dream that is barely holding on. Before the war, we lived a life full of love, hope, education, and hard work. I was at the top of my class, graduated with distinction in Energy Engineering, and dreamed of pursuing a PhD to help build a sustainable future. But everything changed. The war in Gaza has taken everything from us: our home, our safety, our sources of income, and the very things that supported us both financially and emotionally. Everything has turned to ashes.

Our home has been completely destroyed, reduced to rubble and dust. We lost access to education, healthcare, food, and even clean water. Today, my family is struggling to survive under constant bombing, with no shelter, no safety, and often not even bread to eat. A single bag of flour now costs over $700; survival itself has become a luxury. We are desperate, but not hopeless. I launched this fundraiser because I still believe in humanity. I believe there are kind people like you who care, who can make a difference, who can help save a family from suffering and help a young man hold on to his dream.
